Why I'm Running for
Texas Democratic Party Chair
I am running to be the next Chair of the Texas Democratic Party because like you, I was heartbroken and angry after the last election. Despite the very real progress our party has made to improve the lives of people in Texas, we failed to make our case to the diverse array of voters we need to win. To me, the reason is clear: our party has been too focused on serving the political class and not focused enough on connecting with voters across Texas. Leading a state party of our size is a serious endeavor. It requires someone willing to be honest about where we are, assess what needs to change, and then do the work it takes to win again. It requires someone with a proven track record of building broad, diverse coalitions that put Democrats in office.
Experience
As the former Chair of the Harris County Democratic Party, I witnessed firsthand what we can achieve when we come together with a clear vision and the right tools. We put together plans, executed them, and raised over $5.5 million. We took a party organization larger than those in 26 other states, revamped how we communicate, found innovative ways to reach voters, and flipped seats. I want to bring that same vision and energy to our state party.
